this interview is quite reminiscent of Steve Goodman’s ‘Sonic Warfare’ book, particularly on thinking of music and culture more broadly as a kind of virus. audio virology, if i remember correctly. really cool stuff, particularly liked the point about Napster as a technology that denaturalized the artificial scarcity capitalists place upon cultural production vis a vis intellectual property rights. working my way thru the other interviews you’ve sent me atm, really great stuff. working on finishing up an article, hopefully i’ll tune back into the digital ether more fully soon…
